Twitter has unveiled a new feature called the Highlights tab, which is now available to users globally. The development was announced by several users on the platform, with one tweet catching the attention of none other than Elon Musk himself. This new addition appears to have drawn inspiration from Instagram’s stories highlights feature, enabling Twitter users to showcase important story updates at the top of their profile feed. By utilizing the dedicated Highlights tab, individuals can now exhibit their most significant and successful tweets.

Twitter Introduces Highlights Tab: Showcasing Your Best Tweets
The Highlights tab has undergone testing over the past few months, initially with a select group of users. Following the trial phase, Twitter has officially launched the feature for all subscribers of Twitter Blue, its premium service. Twitter Blue members can now curate a collection of noteworthy and outstanding tweets in their Highlights tab, which is prominently displayed on their profiles.

Adding tweets to the Highlights tab is a straightforward process. Users simply need to tap on the three-dot icon located above the desired tweet, which will bring up a context menu. Within this menu, there will be a new option labeled ‘Add/Remove from Highlights.’ By selecting this option, users can add the tweet to their Highlights tab. It’s important to note that the Highlights tab will only appear on the profile after the first tweet has been added to the collection. Even non-Twitter Blue subscribers can access the ‘Add/Remove from Highlights’ option; however, selecting it will redirect them to the Twitter Blue subscription page. Twitter Blue is available for a monthly fee of Rs 650 on the web and Rs 900 on Android and iOS platforms. Annual plans are also offered at Rs 6,800 and Rs 9,400 for web and mobile users, respectively.
In addition to the introduction of the Highlights tab, Twitter has also revealed plans to launch a dedicated video app for smart TVs. Elon Musk himself confirmed the news, responding to a user’s request for a Twitter video app. Users will soon be able to enjoy video content on larger screens without having to rely solely on their mobile devices. This aligns with Musk’s recent announcement that Twitter will prioritize video, as well as partnerships related to creators and commerce, in its future endeavors.
With the release of the Highlights tab and the forthcoming video app, Twitter aims to enhance the user experience and provide its subscribers with more engaging and accessible features. Users can now showcase their best tweets and anticipate a more immersive video-watching experience on Twitter in the near future.
