The Apple iOS operating system has come a long way since its inception, providing users with a seamless and intuitive experience. Apple has continually updated the iOS 17 with new features, and it’s time to start thinking about what we want to see in the upcoming iOS 17. Here’s our wishlist for the next iteration of Apple’s operating system.
Table of Contents
Revamped Lock Screen in iOS 17
The lock screen is one of the most frequently accessed features on any mobile device. We would love to see Apple revamp the lock screen to make it more functional and informative. Perhaps the ability to customize widgets on the lock screen or the option to access a limited version of certain apps directly from the lock screen would be an excellent addition.
Improved Siri Functionality in iOS 17
While Siri has come a long way, there is still plenty of room for improvement. We would like to see Siri become more intuitive and capable of more advanced tasks. For example, we would love to see Siri become more adept at understanding natural language and the ability to set up automated tasks, such as setting reminders based on location or time.
Enhanced Multi-Tasking Capabilities
With the increase in the size of mobile displays, multi-tasking has become an essential feature for productivity. We would love to see Apple take this to the next level by adding split-screen capabilities to more apps and the ability to drag and drop files between apps.
System-wide Dark Mode
Many people prefer dark mode on their devices, and Apple has already implemented this in some of their apps. However, we would like to see the option for system-wide dark mode to save battery life and reduce eye strain.
Customizable Control Center
Control Center is an excellent feature that allows you to access commonly used features quickly. However, we would love to see the option to customize the control center to add or remove specific features to suit individual needs.
Improved Files App
The Files app is a great tool for organizing and accessing files stored on your device. However, there is still room for improvement. We would love to see the ability to create custom folders, advanced search capabilities, and integration with cloud storage services.
Better Battery Life
While Apple has made significant strides in battery life, it is still a critical issue for many users. We would like to see Apple focus on improving battery life by optimizing the operating system and adding more advanced power management features.
A More Comprehensive Health App
The Health app is a fantastic tool for monitoring fitness and wellness. However, there is still room for improvement. We would like to see Apple focus on improving the Health app’s ability to track mental health, such as meditation and sleep patterns.
More Privacy Features
Apple has always prioritized user privacy, and we would like to see them continue to do so in iOS 17. We would like to see more privacy features, such as the option to block camera and microphone access for specific apps and the ability to hide sensitive notifications from the lock screen.
Additional Camera Capabilities
The iPhone camera is already excellent, but we would love to see Apple add more advanced features. For example, the ability to adjust the focus and aperture manually, and the option to shoot in RAW format.
Better Apple Music Integration
Apple Music is a fantastic music streaming service, but we would love to see Apple add better integration into the iOS operating system. For example, the ability to access Apple Music directly from the lock screen or the control center would be a great addition.
Advanced Parental Controls
With more and more children using mobile devices, it’s essential to have advanced parental controls to protect them. We would like to see Apple focus on improving parental controls, such as the ability to monitor screen time usage, block specific apps, and limit access to inappropriate content.
Redesigned Home Screen
The iOS home screen has remained largely the same for many years, and we would love to see Apple revamp it in iOS 17. Perhaps the ability to customize the layout and icon size or the option to add widgets to the home screen would be an excellent addition.
The iOS 17 operating system has come a long way, but there is still plenty of room for improvement. We have outlined our wishlist for the upcoming iOS 17, and we hope that Apple takes these suggestions into consideration.
